Top 3 Home Design Trends for 2025
Design trends can be a great way to inspire you to continuously grow and cultivate your unique style while elevating the visual appeal of your home. Keep in mind that, although fresh and new, trends are fleeting, it's best to add them into your home in moderation.
For example, you might find yourself being drawn to Cottage Core style due to its vintage patterns. Pillows, drapery, and art are great ways to add this style into your home because they can easily be switched out if you grow tired of them; whereas, something more permanent, such as wallpaper or mural, may require more effort to change.
Today, I'd like to share a few of the top trends I am forecasting for 2025…
Trend #1: Wallpaper Drenching
This first trend is one that I am very excited about. I have always had a great love for pattern and color, so if you are anything like me, you will love this one too. Wallpaper Drenching is similar to color drenching, in which you add wallpaper and patterns to an entire space.
With color drenching, we see one color used to paint all the walls and ceiling the same shade. With wallpaper drenching, it is a mix of wallpapering the walls, bookshelves, etc., while also incorporating different patterns on pillows, throws, drapery, rugs, etc.
This combination creates a bold and textured look that can fit into a number of design aesthetics. This trend also creates a highly functional living environment, as pattern and texture are great for minimizing the appearance of dirt and grime, meeting many client's needs.
Trend #2: Rich Browns
We have seen a lot of natural and organic design features over the last few years, and while I do believe we will continue to see this, I also see a shift in saturation. With this second trend, the Rich Browns, clients will be opting to color drench rooms in layers of browns, creating cozy and sharp earth-tone vibes.
Popular accent colors with this trend, aside from other shades of browns of course, will be burgundy, emerald tones, linens, black, and navy. This trend is all about adding texture and movement within the space, so not all walls may be the same shade or texture, and we will see a lot of grouping and/or stacking to build up the color tones.
Trend #3: Wall Panels
My third trend, Wall Panels, has certainly been growing in demand over the last couple of years, but I am expecting this trend to continue to surge in popularity. Wall panels are a great and low-cost option to instantly level up a room, and with so many different styles to choose from, it's no wonder that they have made my top three design trends list for the year.
I anticipate that we will see a gradual transition from mouldings to more intricate styles such as fluted, box-line, and even freestyle. Clients tend to love the wow factor and the beautiful details that wall panels can make in a room, and I love that wall panels can elevate any aesthetic, making them a win-win.

I mentioned in one of my previous blogs that I feel that the main buzzwords for the 2025 trends are relaxed, quiet, elevated, and sumptuous, and these trends certainly fall right in line. As always, the goal when choosing to incorporate any trend should be to enhance your existing interior design styles and elements, bringing them together in a warm, inviting, contemporary mix that’s both transitional and rejuvenating.
